Free National Park Days for 2017

Free days to view Bryce Canyon National Park

After a long, cold, and dreary winter, people across the country are itching to get outside and shake off the winter blues. There is no better way to get rid of cabin fever than to visit one of the nation’s many beautiful national parks. With their unique views and natural beauty, national parks, like Bryce Canyon, are the perfect place to welcome warmer seasons.

Getting out of the house and into the wilderness does not have to be an expensive getaway. In fact, it doesn’t cost a penny during select days throughout the year. During a handful of weekends in 2017, the National Park Service hosts special free park days which allow visitors to have access to the parks without paying admission.

Currently, there are around 120 national parks that charge admission fees. These fees go toward helping to maintain the beauty and integrity of the parks. However, for a few days during the year, park goers will have that fee waived. This means that everyone can experience all the wonders the parks have to offer.

Free park days are spread out throughout the year and are usually in honor of different holidays or other observed days. By taking advantage of these days, visitors can form a lifelong love of America’s parks without breaking the bank.
